Mesothelioma is a rare form of cancer usually caused by exposure to asbestos. Asbestos becomes trapped in the mesothelium, the lining is of such vital internal organs like the lungs, stomach and heart. It can become cancerous over time, when known as mesothelioma. Many celebrities and other notable people have died from this disease.

Olsen filed a lawsuit in December 2009 against NBC Studios, NBC Universal and 20th Century Fox claims that exposure to asbestos, which caused his mesothelioma. Olsen also called Sherwin Williams and Lennox Industries in a suit, as did the work, which includes stone walls, when he was young.
